My wealth is the possession of all things. Gold unused is not wealth. Houses and land are not wealth unless used. Use in the only wealth. He who spends with a free hand is wealthier in that moment than he who has hoarded millions, and not used it.

Truth is not eternal. At any given moment, everything we believe is already a lie, even the nearest star we see shines from seven years in the past. Time unmasks every truth, proving each one false in turn. My first disillusionment was Santa Claus, then the United States of America, and finally the church. Like flat-earthers, or children, our understanding is confined by the limits of our individual minds, our experience, and the boundaries of civilization’s knowledge. This is true of your life now as well as the lives of every person who ever lived. So the next time you think you know the truth, remember that with the passage of time the truth you clutch in earnest today will go the way of Santa Claus.

My father once said to me, “You’re going to end up with a whore.” Dad always underestimated me.  I only began with one.

I strived a lifetime for success and found it on more than one occasion only to revile the class of people I aspired to count amongst my peers.

A dishonest woman is a vexation to her children, to her husband and home. A woman that is forthright is a steadfast lamp kept in a chest of treasures, and when opened in the darkness of night, her light brings warmth, comfort, and peace to those ensconced within.

Americans know the price of everything and the value of nothing. They have long mistaken volume for value. The American story is more myth than history and it has always been a lie. What we see happening in America today is not an aberration, it is a reflection of the character of the American people.

“A man is someone who carries the weight that is put in his pack, even if it’s a pack he doesn’t want to carry. He carries it because that’s the sacrifice a man makes. He does it out of love.”

There is nothing more gratifying or fulfilling than children. Chi si volta, e chi si gira, sempre a casa va finire

I’ve never met a woman or a drink I didn’t like. I still remember my first of each, and loved them both. But every one that came after never quite measured up to the first.

I am not a psychic, but I can predict your future. If you change nothing between today and tomorrow, all of your tomorrows are going to look exactly like yesterday.
